outside of the dvds of alternative japanese cinema and eccentric japanese tv shows - where i spent all my pocket money on; my education in film started at home with my father - who worked as a manager in a cinema in his youth. when i was at the tender age of 6, we watched ‘the last emperor’ at home on a friday night. that was my introduction to cinema, and i can never forget that experience.
